Hillsborough Mayor Mark Bell urged residents to get involved in his first State of the Town address.

Below are news and reminders for the work week ending April 26. 

Orange County’s Earth Evening Tonight 

Join the town's stormwater and environmental services division and tree board at Orange County's Earth Evening. The Earth-focused event is 6 to 8 tonight at River Park in the downtown. 

Hillsborough Police Offering Drive-Through Medication Drop-off 

Safely dispose of unneeded medications at the Police Department’s drive-through event Saturday on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. 

Mayor Encourages Residents to Find Their Village 

Mayor Mark Bell delivered his first State of the Town address Monday, focusing on the positive impact of community groups in Hillsborough. 

Courthouse Oaks to Be Removed 

Orange County will remove two declining oaks from the west side of the Orange County Courthouse next week. If you’re in the Historic District and want to remove a tree, remember to apply for a Certificate of Appropriateness. For removal of trees in the public right of way anywhere in town, contact the Tree Board

Local Government Career Expo 

Join the Town of Hillsborough, Wake County and over 40 other city, town and county government employers at the first combined career fair for local government, 1-4 p.m. June 8 at the N.C. State University McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman St. in Raleigh. 

Fiber Contractors Working in Rights of Way
