Waterways

The Eno River is one of Hillsborough's prized natural resources. Spend an afternoon paddling on this beautiful scenic waterway. The following Eno River kayaking/canoeing route is available in Hillsborough: 
 

Eno River at King's Highway Park

Length of Trip: 3 miles roundtrip

Put In/Take Out: King's Highway Park

Route: Boats can be put in at the impoundment above the Ben Johnston dam; parking is available at King's Highway Park, located off Ben Johnston Road.  There is not a constructed launch area for boats, and boats have to be carried on trails through the park to the river. Boaters can paddle upstream at least as far as the U.S. 70 bridge. King's Highway Park currently is the only public access point to the river within Hillsborough’s jurisdiction.
