Update on Hillsborough’s Nash Street Sidewalk Project

Interested in an update on the Town of Hillsborough’s Nash Street Sidewalk Project? A status report is available now on the town’s Web site.

Quite a bit of work already has been performed on the $1.2 million investment in the community. The project is estimated to be complete by summer 2011. However, citizens already can walk on some of it.

As work progresses and students return to Central Elementary School, please be mindful of work crews, pedestrians and bicyclists. The project’s contractor and subcontractors will continue to maintain at least one open travel lane between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The project length is about 3 miles and includes construction of sidewalk along:

  • Nash Street
  • Revere and Faucette Mill roads
  • Allison, Calvin, Hayes and Union streets

The project is intended to improve safety for walkers and to serve as a north-south link, connecting neighborhoods, businesses and schools as well as Gold Park and Riverwalk in the future.

An electronic version of the approved plans is available online on the Nash Street Sidewalk Plans page, with plans divided into sections by street name.
