Treasure Trees
The Treasure Trees Program was initiated by the Hillsborough Tree Board to create awareness of and to give recognition to the preservation of significant trees in the Hillsborough area.
A significant tree may be on public or private land. It is recognized based on any of the following:
- Historic connection
- Beauty
- Wildlife value
- Exceptional size, age, shape or color
To nominate a tree, complete the Treasure Trees nomination form.
Nominated Trees
- Southern red oak on West Hill Avenue
- China fir on St. Mary's Road
- American beech on East Queen Street
- American sycamore on North Hassell Street
- Pecan on West Tryon Street
