Strategic Growth Plan

This document is a joint project of the Town of Hillsborough and Orange County. The report, endorsed in 2007, provides a framework for continuing discussions about growth in the Hillsborough area between the two jurisdictions. The plan documents the growth potential around Hillsborough, considering available water capacity and the transportation network.

Hillsborough-Orange County Strategic Growth Plan Steering Committee

Hillsborough Town Board Member Eric Hallman and Orange County Commissioner Barry Jacobs served as co-chairmen of the Hillsborough-Orange County Strategic Growth Plan Steering Committee.

The effort toward a Strategic Growth Plan — to identify the desired type, rate, timing and location for growth over the next 20 years within and around Hillsborough — began in January 2006. A set of goals commonly shared by Hillsborough and Orange County was used as the foundation and starting point for work on the plan.

The Committee was made up of the following members:
