Stormwater Management

The Town of Hillsborough is allowed to discharge stormwater to creeks and the Eno River under its Phase 2 stormwater permit from the EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.

Hillsborough’ s stormwater management program formerly was coordinated through a contract with Orange County. It now is managed in house by the town. The program’ s mission is to:

  • protect the public and ecosystem’ s health and safety.
  • address stormwater quality and quantity concerns.
  • meet or exceed federal and state mandates regarding stormwater.
