Special Event Permit

Special events can add to the vibrancy and character of Hillsborough, but also may need management to ensure safety and mitigate their impact on Hillsborough residents.  In January 2010 the Town Board adopted a new event policy to help foster successful events in town while maintaining public safety.

Please read the event policy to determine if your event requires a Special Event Permit.  Permit applications must be received at least 70 days in advance of the event.  Some events may be selected to be sponsored by the Town of Hillsborough.  If seeking sponsorship, a written request must be submitted to the Town Board at least 90 days in advance of the event.  If you are interested in holding a special event at Gold Park, check park availability on the Park Reservation Calendar

The permit application is available below.  The form is designed to be easily filled out on your computer, but can also be printed and filled out by hand.  As directed in the application, you must attach a map that shows the site details of your event. Below is a map of the town streets, as well as a map of Gold Park and the surrounding area.  If neither of these maps are sufficient for your application, contact the Planning Department.
