Recycling Bins

Orange County Solid Waste Management provides Hillsborough with curbside recycling collection on Wednesdays. Bins should be placed by the curb by 7 a.m. the day of collection or the night before. Bins should be removed from the curb after collection.

If your bin was out by 7 a.m. but was missed for collection, contact the Orange County Solid Waste Management Department’s administrative office at 968-2788.

The county provides two recycling bins to each household. Households also may use any rigid plastic container similar in size and shape to the curbside recycling bin, such as a laundry basket or a milk crate. Do not use a garbage can, plastic bag or cardboard box to contain your recyclables. Replacement bins for lost and damaged bins are available. Additional bins may be purchased for $7.

Recycling bins are the property of the Orange County Solid Waste Management Department and should be left at the address they were issued.

To request a recycling bin, place a work order by e-mail or by phone at 732-2104 Ext. 222 and Hillsborough Public Works staff will deliver your bin.
