Hillsborough Seeking Bids for Street Resurfacing

The Town of Hillsborough is seeking bids for street resurfacing. The deadline is 2 p.m. June 6.

 

The scope of work includes removing and replacing failing asphalt, subgrading and resurfacing the following streets: Jones Avenue; Valley Forge Road (repair only), East Tryon Street (from Churton Street to Cameron Street); East Queen Street (from Mitchell Street to Thomas Ruffin Street); South Cameron, Durham and Mitchell streets; the driveway location at 329 Allison St. and the Town Hall parking lot.

 

The project also will include testing, milling, minor shoulder grading, paint pavement markings, manhole adjustment, valve adjustment and traffic control. See Addendum 1 for details.

 

The Town of Hillsborough encourages the participation of small contractors, minority contractors, physically disabled contractors, female contractors and historically underutilized businesses in the construction of this project.

 

Specifications and contract documents will be open for inspection at Town Hall, 101 E. Orange St.; the offices of the Associated General Contractors in Raleigh; Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas/iSqFt. Plan Room in Raleigh; and Carolina’s Plan Room in Raleigh.

 

Copies of the contract and specifications may be obtained at the Hillsborough Finance Department in the Town Hall Annex, 137 N. Churton St. Call 732-2104. Copies of these contract documents will require a $50 nonrefundable payment by cashiers check.
