Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I place a work order, and when will it be completed?
A: To place a work order request, call 732-2104 Ext. 222 or send an e-mail to the Work Order Mailbox. After the work order is received and processed by the Public Works Department, the request will be completed on or near your next garbage collection day.

Q: How do I obtain a rollout cart?
A: Non-rental residences with an active utility account are entitled to one free rollout cart when the account is activated. If you need an additional rollout cart, you may purchase a second cart at the Town Hall Annex, 137 N. Churton St., for a fee equal to the town’s cost. To obtain a rollout cart for rental property, a refundable deposit is required. Contact the Town Hall Annex at 732-2104 for more information.
Q: When are bulk items picked up?
A: Bulk items currently are collected on your weekly garbage collection day after a work order is processed. Beginning in November 2011, bulk items will be collected once a month during the second full week of the month. Items that are too bulky, heavy or cumbersome may require payment of a fee based on the nature and amount of the materials and the estimated time required to perform the service. If an item left at the curb is not collected by the town, a sanitation policy tag will be left at your door informing you of items that the town does not collect.

Beginning in February 2012, brush will be collected once every two weeks until the loose leaf collection season starts. During the loose leaf collection season (November through the end of January), brush will be collected weekly. Small amounts of brush must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or tied into bundles using jute, sisal or hay baling twine (no plastic or cotton twine) if the amount is less than 30 pounds.
