Police Officer

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Hillsborough Police Officer.  Applicants must be able to perform entry level law enforcement work on an assigned rotating shift.  Successful candidates must meet State and departmental requirements, including a comprehensive background investigation, medical and psychological examinations, and substance abuse testing.  Requires high school diploma or GED, completion of BLET prior to hire date (anticipated hire date on or before June 30, 2014), and possession of a valid NC driver’s license.  Hiring range: $35,528 - $40,857.  Candidate receives a six percent raise after successful completion of one-year probationary period.  A competitive benefits package is provided.  The Police Career Progression System offers professional development and advancement opportunities.  Applications may be submitted online through the Town’s website or by mail to Town of Hillsborough Human Resources Department, P.O.
