Weather-related Changes to Services: During the winter months, weather conditions sometimes prevent garbage from being collected. Even when roads appear safe, many secondary roads may not be passable. For weather-related changes to town services, see the above locations. For changes to recycling and county-related solid waste collections, check the county's inclement weather page: www.co.orange.nc.us/recycling/weather.asp.  

Water/Sewer Emergency Requests: Report water line breaks, frozen meters and similar emergencies immediately to Billing and Collections:

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays: (919) 732-2104 Ext. 223, 225 or 237
  • After hours, weekends and holidays: (919) 732-3621
