Churton Street Strategic Plan

The Churton Street Strategic Planning Committee was formed in late 2004, with the goal of developing a strategic plan for the future design and development of the Churton Street commercial corridor. It was an offshoot of a successful student design competition in 2003, sponsored by the Hillsborough Tourism Board, that generated excitement and many interesting ideas within the community. The plan was developed with assistance from the Community Planning Program of the N.C. Division of Community Assistance. The Churton Street Corridor Strategic Plan was completed in 2006. The plan and its supporting documents can be viewed below.

The committee was comprised of the following members:

Lauri Michel Tourism Board
Richard Silverman Board of Adjustment
Mike Gering Town Board
Robbin Taylor-Hall Chamber of Commerce
Dave Remington Planning Board
Bryant Warren Planning Board
