Cemetery Flowers and Ornament Removal
The cemetery administrator or other designated town employee may remove any tree, shrub or other plant that hinders cemetery maintenance. The designated person also may remove floral designs, flowers, weeds or plants of any kind from the cemetery as soon as they deteriorate or become unsightly.
Due to cemetery grounds maintenance, decorative items — including artificial flowers, plastic flower vases and wreaths — may not be placed on the ground around gravestones between March 1 and Nov. 1. Citizens, however, are permitted to place small flags in the ground around gravesites during the weeks of Veterans Day and Memorial Day. (See Town Code Section 13-8: Trees, Plantings, Landscaping)
